LANGUAGE IS MEMORY

SORA

The Sora language belongs to the South Munda branch of the Austroasiatic language family. Rich in phonetics, oral poetry, and specialized vocabulary for forest ecology, it holds the ancestral worldview of the Sora community.

Our initiative documents Sora oral traditions, ancestral songs, village legends, and promotes mother-tongue education using the Sora Sompeng script created by Malia Gomango.
